Official Visit of Azerbaijan President to Ukraine

On October 28th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was given an official welcome to Ukraine in front of the Presidential Administration`s building. A guard of honor was lined up for the Azerbaijani President at the square decorated with the national flags of Azerbaijan and Ukraine. The two presidents inspected a ceremonial guard of honor as an orchestra played the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Face to face meeting between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych took place in Kiev.

During the meeting, the satisfaction was expressed on the successful development of bilateral relations between our countries in various fields. It has been noted that the current visit of President of Azerbaijan to Kiev and documents to be signed in the framework of this visit will serve to further broadening of the ties. It is reported that there are vast prospective for the development of co-operation in economic and other fields between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

Heads of state exchanged the views on bilateral and international issues.
Following face to face meeting between President Ilham Aliyev and President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, the second meeting of the Council of the Presidents of two countries was held. The meeting was attended also by members of Azerbaijani and Ukrainian delegations.

President Ilham Aliyev and Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych have signed the Joint Declaration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and President of Ukraine and the Protocol of Second Meeting of the Council of Presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstyantyn Hryshchenko have signed the Agreement on Co-operation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in the field of archives.

On  October 28th the official visit of Ilham Aliyev to Ukraine was over.
